Change Requests for 18 - Scheduling....

I create my own schedules (QB64 Rules!) - when creating schedule with numbers same schedule .lsdl ways is sadly same schedule as previous year. I conquered half of that by making odd and even schedules by flipping home and away in my .bas file (write .odd and .evn)

One problem for years is even though Game Setting has name of my lsdl file I have to manually import it every year or OOTP Generated schedule is used.

My change requests are 1) when looking at a .lsdl file instead of just always going in alphabetical order for 1-10 or so, order in final standings of previous season. I.E. 1 vs 10 in a 10 game league is not always Atlanta vs Washington but the first place team vs the last place team the year before. If 2 five-team divisions/leagues - the 1-5 is first through last of one and 6-10 is first-last of the other.

2) PROMPT to import schedule on first day of PreSeason.

Not sure I understand this. If you use the same schedule in Year 2 as you used in Year 1, the game automatically scrambles the teams. On the other hand, if you reload the same schedule in Year 2 as you used in Year 1, you'll end up with exactly the same match-ups.

Well, for a variety of reasons, I don't think this is the way to go about it. A better solution would be to enable the user to set which teams are assigned which team numbers in the schedule.

That's not a bad idea.

Problem I have had since ootp(14?)

My schedule, even though it appears in options, is not used, the schedule is one created by the game.

I attached a screenshot.

So I have to import schedule every season. So my change request is that when I import, the numbers in my .lsdl file correspond with last season's standings and not alphabetical order.

<GAME day="1" time="1305" away="5" home="1"/>
<GAME day="1" time="1305" away="3" home="2"/>
<GAME day="1" time="1305" away="10" home="6"/>
<GAME day="1" time="1305" away="8" home="7"/>
<GAME day="1" time="1305" away="9" home="4"/>

Are you saying that the game doesn't automatically load your schedule in Year 1, or that the game doesn't use the same schedule in Year 2 that you used in Year 1?

I have reported this 'bug' in support threads since OOTP14 or so... If I do not import, the schedule is one generated by game - clue is night games in 1800s - I don't put a night game in until late 1930s....
