I had to go with "Peaches" because the Rockford Peaches are my favorite AAGPBL team!

Atlanta Rebels is my choice but only because there are already so many logo & uniform sets for it. Plus it takes me back to the ABA days in OOTP8.

Atlanta alternative nicknames
I'm considering changing my Atlanta nickname and the options so far are "Bees", "B's" or "RedCaps" - the latter relating to a previous nickname while in Boston that I read was involved in the first National League game. I've discounted Rebels but only because my expansion Charlotte team are already using that name.

The Atlanta Crackers were the New York Yankees of the Minor Leagues in pennants and attendance... from 1901 to 1961.
Not sure what a "Cracker" is... have heard it was a "hobo"... also that it was a person who cracked a whip to drive wagons. |

Rebels or Crackers...works in historical leagues, especially pre-1960 or so, but you just can't see them going for past that period.
Maybe Flames, like the old hockey team? Generals or Grays might also work. A little spurious for the same reason as Rebels or Crackers, but a bit more subtle. Peaches...sounds like a women's team. Inferno...would be kinda goofy during the 1970s disco era. Atlanta has always been a bit of a tough one for team names. Maybe just pick a generic animal name and be done with it. like a thrasher, falcon, or hawk? Maybe a genaric Native American name would work as well.

Maybe, but a bit spurious nowadays, for similar reasons as Rebels or Crackers.
