Historical League Free Agency

I started my League in year 1932 and I am now in year 1974 in October I still see there is no true Free Agency yet. I still don't have to sign players, they are auto-signed to contracts without my approval. As soon as the World Series is over they auto-sign to 1975 and the star players are still signed but to longer term deals. While this was convenient I am ready for the Curt Flood ruling to take place so I have to actually do real work. So what year in Historical play does Free Agency start to take place? Or do I have to turn them on manually? And if you do have to turn them on manually where in the menus do you go?

Free Agency should start in 1976.

Yeah, Curt Flood actually lost his case. It wasn't until Andy Messersmith and Dave McNally went the entire 1975 season without a contract that an arbitrator (Peter Seitz) ruled that the reserve clause was only enforceable for one year, not in perpetuity. That decision was made in December 1975, and caused the union and MLB to negotiate the terms of free agency to begin following the 1976 season.

Messersmith and McNally, of course, became free agents as soon as the ruling was signed. But that didn't matter to McNally because he had always planned to retire. No big surprise that Messersmith was signed by Ted Turner to pitch for the Braves.
