Catcher defense question
I was looking at the editor at some catchers just to kind of get an idea how they are defensively but does double play affect them? Or is just catcher ability and catch arm? I ask because I do know catchers to perform double plays from time to time .

He restated his question twice.
He was wondering, does the "DP" stat on the defensive position ratings matter for catchers on say a bunt in front of them and they throw to 2nd for one and yada yada double play. His question is would the aforementioned stat effect this series of events, and my answer is that I have no idea. It's a great question.

Turn DP would matter more on a force play at the plate and thereafter attempting to double up the batter at first

That's what I would have thought and was involved in a huge argument about this last year but apparently that's not the case. The "turn dp" rating apparently applies to starting a double play, not actually turning it. This is why third basemen require a minimum rating in that skill to get a rating at third even though they hardly ever actually "turn" a dp.

Edit a catcher, turn DP rating to 0. Turn to max. Has the resulting catchers rating changed? Then edit it back to the orginal.
