Need Help w/File Locations
I got a new computer and I am having a heck of a time getting my game moved over. I don't do anything special with folder structure or anything else. What are the default file locations so I can get the new computer to recognize my game files.
I have the previous computer and all the files, so I am not freaking out yet. |

Shucker- is old computer a Mac or PC?
Been too long since I've been in a PC for me to recall exactly where the save files are. On a Mac, in a finder window, Go|Library|Application Support|Out of thePark Developments|OOTP Baseball 17| From there you'll want to move over your backups, ball caps, jerseys, logos, etc. Actually, you may want to move the entire directory over. One way to get your game to a new computer: (i use a PC so the directions are for that)
back up your game to an external HD (i'd click the box to copy all files for the back-up), then unlicense the game. (write down the license number carefully if you don't have it saved somewhere that you can cut & paste it in the new computer/game.) Download the game to new computer. re-license it. Then restore your saved game from the HD (you'll need to plug that HD into the new computer obviously.) if you need help backing you and restoring/backing up ... here's a tutorial RchW posted a while back with pics too boot! http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post4084018 if you follow that thread, he also explains how to just zip file the game. http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ml#post4084018 You'll still need to unlicense it and then re-license on new computer. The zip method is what i use to back up now. Works well for me. the folder my game uses is: C:\Documents\Out of the Park Developments i believe that's the default. Good luck.

^^This^^
The best way to switch to another computer is a fresh install then copy over zipped game files. Any custom logos or schedules can be copy/pasted into the appropriate folders in the new install. If you haven't used up both licences you don't even need to unlicense until the process is complete.

I am working with a PC Cavebutter, but thanks for the reply.
I have been trying all sorts of folder combinations in the Game Settings-"Expert" (that is a laugh) section to no avail. I am at the place now where I want to scrap everything I have on the new computer and go back and get a new cut from the old PC. I think when I brought it over I saved it to the wrong folder resulting in a Tom>Documents>Tom> Documents situation. My question at this point is what comes with the program download that works fine. Other than that stuff that I am licensed up for, I want to scrap all OOTP related folders etc. Thanks |

One thing you haven't specified yet, and of which this detail is important, but - are you using the Steam, or non-Steam version?
If non-Steam, find the data files under C:\Program Files (x86)\Out Of The Park Developments\Out Of The Park Baseball 17. If Steam, then the files are under C:\Users\username\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 17. |

Good point ArcAngel. I am using the non-Steam version. I love Steam but I want all my purchase dollars going to the OOTP cause.
After all kinds of trial and error, I ended up running a backup on my original machine, copied that backup over and did a restore. That is as far as I got. I was excited just to see my game come up on the new screen. One thing I did notice was that the logos were old and not the ones that I had before. The question now is where the proper logos reside. But that is a task for another night. One little victory at the end of the weekend. |

Logos are kind of hidden.
Inside the OOTP folder that ArcAngel directed you to: saved_games\Your_League.lg\news\html\images There are folders in there for team logos and league logos, both of which are pretty obvious.
