There are many reasons I love this game. This is but one:

White Sox vs. Nationals in my Manfred Chronicles save game. Max Scherzer up against Chris Sale, Scherzer looking to go to 12-1 in his final start before the All-Star Game.

The game is everything you'd expect it to me, a real pitchers' duel, 1-1 into the 8th inning. Both pitchers go out for the 8th despite already having 100+ on their pitch count. A tired Sale gives up a solo homer to Spencer Kieboom (love that name!) to stake Scherzer to a 2-1 lead. Bottom of the 8th, Scherzer gets the first two outs, then his status ticks over to Tired, just in time to face Jose Abreu. Time for a reliever, right? Shawn Kelley or Papelbon? Nope, the AI leaves Scherzer in, and of course, Abreu launches it to re-tie the game.

The Nationals ended up winning in the 9th, but the win went to the reliever to came in after the home run. So I was fuming at the missed opportunity, then, all of a sudden, it hit me: Dusty Baker! The AI has correctly, and accurately, simulated Dusty Baker's boneheaded decision making!

Amazing! No wonder this game is so much fun to play.

at least i'm not alone in judging Baker .... i'm still mad at him for the 2002 World Series. If i recall correctly, he has yet to win an elimination game in the Post Season.

Reds fan here (obviously). I'm right there with you. Remember the 2012 Division series, Reds vs. Giants?

This is why I always say that Ohio fans should only play fictional leagues. Championships in the real world are way beyond your reach

Cleveland maybe. I've seen three Reds championships in my lifetime
