Question 5.01 statistical, graphical issues

Main point:

Start of a new season, played an exhibition between Anaheim and San Francisco. In the box scores, the winning pitcher has the correct stats of 7.1 IP, 2 ER, 2.45 ERA listed. But when I click on the hyperlink to take me to his page, in the 'Pitching stats 2003' section it is reported that he has played one game, 1 win, 7.0 IP and 1 ER for an ERA of 1.29. As if the fractional inning wasn't being taken into account. Some kind of rounding error?

Very minor (anal) graphical issues:

1. As I scan down the drop down menus, only the 'active' item the mouse is pointing to should be bold, but all items remain bold until menu is closed.

2. Text for the date and league name in the upper right box overlaps.

Exhibition games don't effect career stats I believe.

I didn't think they did, but then (1) why does the game get reported at all and (2) why are the stats wrong?

Ok, if you are basing this on the boxscore then don't all that does is just report game events. If you looked at the actual teams and they were recorded then let me know. Also let me know the type/size of league, etc.

I don't post often but first off, This is a great game!!! Markus and the whole team has done an impressive job on the game. Bugs are to be expected. The bottom line is that they were all extremely minor bugs. I would like to see High Heat Baseball put out a patch 5 days after the release based off of user input. Would never happen. Now on to the bug (if you can call it that.)

I just analyzed two leagues that I am playing and Nosey is correct. If you look at the career stats for any pitcher whose innings pitched for his carrer totals a fraction. It seems to round the innings total down to the next inning. I have never seen a fraction in the total.

Thanks for yor kind words. What type of league is this that you tried? I just tried and after the game went and looked at the team stats and player stats and zip, nothing shows up. There were pitchers w/ fractions of innings for the game and they showed nothing as well. Just trying to figure this out.

The two leagues I am playing are Standard Leagues. One is in Manager mode. I also am in the NGBL online league. They converted and exported the current results to HTML. The following link is an example of the problem described.

http://www.fragoff.org/ngbl/stats/

If you look at the "Career Pitching Stats" section, You will see that he has 6.2 IP for 2013 but 6.0 IP for his carrer.

Thanks for the quick response.

I guess it would have helped if I gave you the correct link.

Hey - I hope you take these comments in the spirit they were intended - they're not complaints, just pointing out a few small things I've noticed. This title has the best customer support I've ever seen for a game, period. May help explain why I bought both OOTP 4 and 5 on the day of release.

Cheers

This also happened in a test league I did in ootp5. After the exhibition game the pitchers had a stat for games started as 1. This was also something that happened in ootp4. This would prove a problem because I realy enjoy testing out new graphics and stuff and seeing how they look in-game. Anyway, the way I worked around the problem in ootp4 was to make a copy of my league and only play an exhibition in the copy. I stopped playing any exhibition games in my main league file. I'm doing the same in ootp5.

I just updated to 5.01 also and noticed the same statistic error. I am playing the default 30 team league, I made no changes to the settings. I have a rookie pitcher who has an ERA of 5.13 and has pitched 47.1 inning for 2003. When I go to the "Player HTML Report" he has his statistics listed for 2003 correctly. Then on the totals line it lists his ERA as 5.17 and his IP as 47.0, everything else is correct. Since this is his first year, the totals should be the same as his 2003 statistics.

I didn't realize if it was doing this before I patched it or not.

Update: I did a test league just now to check this. The pitchers stats were all fine on the Player HTML Report until they had a game where they pitched a fraction of an inning. As soon as they had one game where it the total IP was a decimal, the total career stats I described above happened.

I know this is a minor thing, just wanted to point it out though. Thanks.
