player roles for ahl

If i sign an older/lowrated player to a 2-way contract and give him leader for his supplementary role, will he be under the impression hes gonna be a leader on my nhl team or will they know its for ahl?

He'll assume it's for the NHL team and won't be happy if sent down. If he's being signed for the AHL team, the supplementary role to use is Depth.
