OOTP 18 Features Predictions!!

It's that time of year again where I'm still loving OOTP 17 but am looking forward to 18. I think it will be fun to predict the features list of the new game and see how many we get right. Let's try to keep this predictions instead of wishes. For example, we know we're not getting Pro/reg anytime soon.

Updated:
  • Licensed Nippon League and other various Indy leagues
  • Pawns are now represented as visible players in 3D mode
  • Home Run derby mode and Futures game!
  • Player development contracts (ability to negotiate where your minor league teams are)
  • 1B- 3B coaches and minor league instructors
  • ability to sign coaches from other organizations if to MLB level
  • Arizona Fall League
  • Potentially bringing back multiple scouts to an organization. Overall Scouting Director and scouts reporting to that person.
  • Online Head to head
  • World Baseball Classic
  • Expanded minor leagues
  • Inclusion of Negro League players
  • Improvements to Associations
  • Improved AI
  • And much more!!
I'm sure there will be many goodies not shown on the features list as well. I can't wait

World Baseball Classic would be nice.

Licensed Japanese or Indy Leagues is certainly plausible.

minor leagues expanded and inclusion of Negro League players (hopefully in their own league - minor or major!)

i recall Markus said something about Nero League players possibly in 18 a long while back .... so i think it may be introduced in some format.

Probably won't happen, but I'm still hoping to see improvements to associations.

World Baseball Classic and the inclusion of Negro League players and teams in historical mode would make me VERY happy.

- Addition of Winter Leagues

- Ability to pay for stadium upgrades (Maybe it's broken down to seats, concession, parking, etc. I know it's owner stuff, and I guess it's a wish, but I could also see it included)

Player loans would make leagues like Australia more interesting and realistic.

And I anticipate seeing the World Baseball Classic.

Additional international leagues is another easy guess.

I take it for granted that efforts will be put into improving the historical features, which are rather rough-edged in 17.

19th century with the real leagues and teams from the box, so no more need to edit.

An ability to add to your coaching staffs extra positions - added hitting or fielding help, for instance. Real times aren't limited to exact spots and can add people if they see the need.

Continued improvement to the player AI to negotiate contracts. Particularly prior to even getting a ML deal and during their minimum contracts, when they will clearly be stud players later, dudes need cutthroat agents to maximize their value when they finally become studs!!!

The addition of double splits to the ways to view stats and ratings was heralded when it was introduced but has received little attention since then - probably because the option appears only haphazardly and doesn't always seem to work. For instance, on those rare occasions when I'm offered the opportunity to see "Last Year" and "As Starter", stats show up for pitchers who didn't start any games.

Since this is a very useful feature, I hope that someone on the development team is working on making it usable.

I think the fact that nobody mentioned it gives you a sense of how the diehards feel about it.
