Exclamation OOTP 17 Update #9 HOTFIX, Version 17.11.71 Available!

Important: This update is only for OOTP 17 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version.
It is NOT compatible with the Steam or Mac OSX AppStore version! The Steam update is available via the Steam client and the Mac AppStore version is pending review at Apple, which will take some more days.

Good morning!

We have released a little hotfix patch for update #9, version number 17.11.71. It fixes a couple of issues with top prospect lists and players expecting to hit at the top of the lineup too often.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

The "Designate For Assignment" option in the player Available Actions/Transactions remains gone. Is this intentional? If not should we expect this to be fixed to work as before? Just wondering.

Sorry, looks like if you have waivers disabled, then yeah, that button is gone accidentally. You can still DFA players by dragging them to the DFA window in your transactions tab.

Not sure what you mean here. I definitely don't have waivers disabled, and the "Waive & DFA" option remains. I've been dragging, no problem, but I am having a hard time understanding if this is an issue specific to me, an intentional change by dev., or simply a bug introduced in the previous patch that's not going to be fixed?

Thanks for the quick response, btw.

Ah, yeah, I guess the option is gone there as well when it probably shouldn't be. But generally speaking, when you DFA a player from your 40-man roster, they need to go through waivers anyways, so that's what the waive+DFA option is for. If he hasn't passed through waivers, you'll get an error message anyways if you chose the DFA-only option before.

It's been gone...I use waivers. The only option you have is to waive &designate for assignment...for some reason you can't just designate for assignment after a player has already cleared waivers

I didn't say anything because I thought it was intentional...but looking back I don't know why I would have thought that either.

If it can be replaced, I think it's helpful

Yes, I understand the rules. You've pretty much answered my questions. Interesting.

Thanks for the response.

I've never closely examined the waiver periods assigned by OOTP. Well, I have, I just don't remember them. But after clearing waivers, on that transaction screen all of the players who have cleared remained with that status for the period's duration. It may have been trading deadline was one of them.

So it's not a useless tool to have it readily available, but given that you can still use the drag & drop to DFA and the opportunity to utilize it occurs so rarely, it's fine as it is, IMHO. Just need to remember that's how it's done.

The problem is you risk placing players on waivers again (even though they have already cleared) if you forget or just aren't paying attention...it would be much more beneficial to have the ability to DFA from the transactions tab. Its a bit sloppy, to have to go to drag & drop overtime, when every other transaction is available from the tab.

You can sort of see here, where someone might just go ahead and click "waive & designate for assignment" when they don't see just "designate for assignment" listed.

The issue in this case as you can see, is the player has already cleared waivers once (remove from waivers option) and would be placed on waivers yet again if someone made this mistake...which is an easy one to make IMO.

Do we have confirmation that the system will take such a player off waivers and then put him straight back on waivers if that option is indeed selected? Or are we just assuming it will do so?

Maybe in OOTP, not in real life.

yes, but also, they only need to go through waivers once...so if I waive & DFA a player...I can then put him back on the 40 man roster, only to DFA him again without him having to pass through waivers this time.

So is this still a Beta? I like to wait until it's deemed release worthy.

All seems quiet with this patch, even though there are still a few complaints here and there. I think we have achieved stasis with 17. Onward to 18!

It would still be reassuring to have official word that the patch is no longer in beta mode.

Don't know if this is exclusive to the latest patch, I don't have anything older installed to check.

On the top prospect list most prospects are showing with all zeros for stats even though all of their leagues are in the middle of season and all of the players have stats at their current level.

There is one MLB player with stats showing and one Single A player but everyone else is showing zeros. See images below...anyone else seeing this?
