Create Player function error
The "Create Player" function, in the Free Agents section is flawed. If you answer "no" to "generate a youngster?", you may still get a youngster, except you get one that is fully developed. For example, I just ended up with a 19-year old with BA/HR/BB ratings of 5/8/6. Create Fictional Player, on the individual Team screen also has the same flaw.
This is the same problem that existed in OOTP4. http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...&threadid=5744 Also, a minor irritation: using "Create Player", you get two successive confirmation windows (that repeat essentially the same message) where you have to hit OK in each one. "Create Fictional Player" only offers one confirmation. Ideally, you wouldn't have to hit OK at all - the create is already done. Just show the player's name while its doing the create. Have you tried creating a new league since this? Most fixes work in already created leagues but not always.

Just created a brand new league using 5.01. Created 10 players. For each, chose "NO" for youngster, and "Random" for position.
4 out of 10 were overdeveloped youngsters: 18 yr old Closer, Ratings: 8/7/6/8/6/8 20 yr old MR, Ratings: 3/5/7/6/6/6 22 yr old SS, Ratings: 4/5/1/3/7/2 22 yr old 1B, Ratings: 5/4/1/2/2/5 Also, still have to hit OK twice to finish just one player.

Sometimes it gets really bad. I was just trying to add a couple of pitchers to a CPU roster. Had 5 guys in a row show up under 20 years of age, with ratings in the 6-8 ranges. One guy was 16 years old!
The biggest concern here is that the program code generating players when I hit the "Create Player" button is something entirely different from what is used to create my "Initial Draft" players. I would've thought each of these areas would use the identical program module to create a player. But since this doesn't appear to be the case, I'm suspicious that there are other, less visible, flaws in these players I'm creating.

Wondering if this makes it to 5.02 - didn't see any improvement in 5.01 (even with a brand new league).
This function is important for expansion, and sometimes just for giving the CPU some better players to be more competitive. Its much more tedious to use when you have to check for (and delete) these teen superstars

I having the same problem and I completely agree with Bleacherbum about having to hit ok twice to get one player.
