SB Records

So, much to my shock, one of my players in my MLB Quickstart league just tied Rickey Henderson's single season SB record of 130, with 9 games left to go in the season!

Unfortunately, there appears to be no acknowledgment of this in the PbP. Is there any reason that anyone is aware of why steals aren't treated as record-relevant events in the in-game text?

yes there are a number of achievements that go unnoticed by the game. I just had a pitcher actually get 30 wins and Got nothing including a achievement gold prompt (however that might come after world series in Championship series now)
In my earlier version Billy Hamption broke the SB record and got it up to 138 and no notication or achievement.

hehe i've only see triple digi sb with guys around 250speed/stealing that i've edited to figure out who could approach ricky's numbers. (i highly doubt longevity at default can reach his numbers without a boosted LTM.. yearly is different)

my static ltm for it results in 71.5% success and ~2500 sb a year. (only 156G and 28T, so the individual isn't as hamstrung as the league totals suggest)

156/162 * 100 = % of mlb figures expected due to less opportunity for the individual... the league totals for SB is about 89% of a MLB 30t/162g league -- assuming same LTM/LTs - all of them, not just sb.

The player in question ended the season with 152 speed, 205 steal, and 202 baserunning ratings. I scout using the editor but don't edit the players. He stole 139 bases with only 35 CS, with me manually playing out every game. LTM for steals - 0.952 attempts, 1.106 success %, not modified by me in any way.

This definitely only happened due to my manual managing. Players on my team had the top 3 SB totals in MLB with 139, 133, and 93 each, with the highest AI player at 74. Another one of mine was 5th with 50 SBs. I play one-pitch mode and take pitches until I have 2 strikes unless a hitter has a hitting streak of 11 or more games, in which case I swing away with that player. My new record holder has 156 contact and 186 eye ratings, which helps him rack up steals as well. My team's talent levels gave him more than a few PAs in blowout games against scrub September callups and the occasional position player, but I've still never come particularly close before this guy.

I only let a player keep stealing after 1 May if they have at least an 80% success rate, so sometimes potential speedsters get throttled down early in the year. This guy got off to a hot start and just kept going. I also run and hit frequently to stay out of GIDP, and he batted ahead of two players with high contact but Low Eye/Avoid K ratings, so he also added a bunch of steals due to batter Ks.
