Experience vs. Pro Years

Can someone who may know explain what's going on here with experience and pro years? They don't appear to be the same, and some of this looks odd to me. I became interested with the new service time limits for minor leagues.

Is it experience at that particular level vs. overall pro experience?

I don't know what OOTP does in regard to minor league service accounting, but something that needs to be considered is how many days of service during a season are needed for a season of service to be counted.

In real life, there are at least three different methods used:

(1) For league service time restrictions, a season of service is 30 days or more on the roster of a minor league club at a given classification.

(2) For minor league free agency (which requires seven years' of service), a year is 1 day or more on the roster of a minor league club (this includes players on option from a major league club).

(3) For the purposes of being eligible for a fourth option year, a year of service is 90 days or more on the roster of a minor or major league club (this rule specifically excludes the short season leagues).

Pro years refers to the number of seasons in affiliated baseball, while years of experience includes high school and college baseball.

I'm not saying that I know that answer, but just looking at the screenshots above, this answer doesn't get us there. Most of those players have zero years of experience but at least some pro years.
You mean they started at the pro level without playing high school or college ball?

well, this is the 2016 MLB quick start, so yes, it's possible those years were not added.
