Sometimes I wonder about these owners ...

I finished a historical season and got this from the owner:

Team Record:
"You know, I did expect a little more from you. Finishing up 101-61 is certainly nothing to write home about. Better luck next year!"

(the division winner was 103-59)

I find that this works well against an owner whom is lacking of gratitude. You can click 'MLB>News>Write News. This will allow you to write your own article in the League Newspaper. You can start off with one word 'test' and a title of some kind and check out the League Newspaper to make sure you did the right steps in order before you create your REAL article. Your real article should include, of course, your team's achievements, along with the lack of gratitude displayed by your owner. Write about your displeasure, why the tires of his Rolls Royce parked in the back of his house (place address here) are flat. And for him to check out that his prize dogs and horse are missing. And if his daughter is late from school (name school here). And if you are afraid of ramifications by the owner, write the article from a reporter's point of reference citing anonymous sources. Trust me your owner will be on his toes from here on in.

Remember once your article has been written all the other GM's will be at home sitting around the fireplace with their loved ones and reading about what a crummy excuse of a human being that you, your staff, and players poured their hearts for this past year.

Trust me, you will feel better.

BTW, the League Newspaper is a wonderful outlet in case you want to write obituaries as well. (This usually does not take long after your original article was written) I have gone so far as including my own set of goals I expect from the deceased in his afterlife.

Only 101 wins? What a loser! Did he cut your pay? Yes, I am being sarcastic. Of course here in San Diego will did fire Bruce Bochy for winning our division back to back for the first time in Team history and Marty Schotenheimer for going 14-2 with the Chargers. We will not tolerate winning!
Maybe when you write your newspaper story you could include that the owner was arrested for molesting farm animals.

Seriously why? What was the reasoning for this?

Marty Schotenheimer got a bad rep for not winning in playoffs... ultimate example of small sample size and a cosmic joke on him.

great coach

Stupid owners! When the Padres fired Bochy they said he couldn't win in the post season. Of course he has now won 3 of the last 5 World Series with the Giants. The Padres have not been back to the post season since (although we are planning on making a run this September).
As for the Chargers - Apparently their owner is one of the stupidest and greediest billionaires in the world. Maybe too much sunshine causes brain damage?

Marty was one of the best. The Chargers had a great team and had they kept him I think they would have dominated the AFC instead of New England, probably gone to several Super Bowls. Instead they bring in Norv Turner who had never had a winning record, but he was a "Yes," man who would do whatever the GM & Owner told him, without question. Good owners hire good coaches and let them coach. Bad owners micro-mange and a 14-2 team turns into a 4-12 team.
Same is true in OOTP. I took my team to the World Series last year. This year my owner cut my budget. I guess he doesn't want to go back to the WS.

likely bending to the pressures of the fans. listen to sports talk radio for 5 minutes, and if you don't understand, you are likely one of 'them.'

Marty will always have the stink of the Cleveland Browns on him, which makes him seem less successful than he actually is.
