Minor league players being released

I've noticed the AI keeps releasing some of my minor league players. Most seem to be rookie level scrubs, but it causes me to have to go and sign a bunch of new scrubs, since I'm playing with ghost players disabled.

I have "Minor league promotions and demotions" set to AI controlled, but I control "Minor league free agent signings and releases".

Shouldn't that setting prevent this?

Also, all my minor league roster limits are at 25, except rookie, which is set to 'no limit'.

Any ideas?

It's a bug that was introduced in the last patch. It should be fixed in the next patch.

Anyone figured out the fastest way to return those released players to their original teams, now that the hotfix is released?

Fastest way I can think is just sign them back on a minor league contract, if another team is has signed him before you noticed, just go into commish mode and force the trade for a Rookie League 25 year old reliever with no potential, that is the only way I can think.

Don't even have to force a trade in commish mode, just assign them to your team from the player edit screen.

can you give a screen pic as to where in the edit this is?

I have tried to find how to assign a player to a different team, but can't find it in the editor, maybe I am not in the correct editor or just missing it

Left hand side about 3/4ths of the way down. Where it says 'Team Information, Select New Team'.

player profile> editor
then just below the players name, age, country, etc ...
about one third of the way down on left side - (i am not at my game so the titles aren't exact) is a two line box that is assign players or league or something along those lines. first drop down menu is ML or AAA or whatever. Second line/box drop down menu is the team to assign the player.

click desire league level, then drop down to the next line and pick the team you want the player on and the player is instantly on that squad.

Sorry for the massive pic, not sure how to make it smaller

Not to mention the terrible colors, Red, Mustard Yellow and Purple! Not sure why the Sea Dogs have Mustard Yellow as their second color in-game either, it's nothing they use irl. We might have to change that for next year...

The dropdown is at the bottom of this screenshot. You have to be in commissioner mode to see this section. First you select the league that you want the player in, and then you select the team. After this, you can go down the page further to edit the contract.

Not right now, I'm at work, but I see Orcin has done it for me.

that is probably why I did not see it, I was not in commish mode. do not go into commish mode as I feel like I am cheating, but obviously there are times it is needed

To return all released player to their original teams, switch to commissioner mode, go to the free agents page and add the "best career team" column to the view. This way, all players under a certain age can be sorted by their previous team. Switch to each team, click through the checkboxes then right click to offer contract to all players.

It takes about half an hour. For the high end prospects who signed elsewhere already, return them using the editor page.

Why not use the editor page for everyone? Why fart around with offering contracts that may or may not be accepted?

I am noticing a good amount of young players being waived and claimed by the AI.

They seem to call up random guys to the 40 then take them off the next day.

I see minor leaguers getting release also but they are usually scrubs.

Yup, I saw a few Japanese league teams release top 5 prospects and for MLB a few good young players have been released

I've only noticed two of my players being released(they actually had potential) there might be more... but I really hope this is fixed next patch, it's almost making the game unplayable for me.

Almost every day in my fictional league, players from all 16 clubs' minor league teams are being released so this is still a problem.
