Waiver wire and after deadline trades

So I'm in late August and my ace went down for 3-4 weeks and I'm a game up in the AL East. How can I place guys on waivers to see if they won't be claimed and I can trade them?
Also is there a way I can view the players that cleared and I can try and trade for?

I don't think OOTP mimics the MLB-style "hide the easter egg" type waivers, where you place 10 guys on waivers in hopes of sneaking someone through.

Instead, you execute a trade as normally, then instead of it completing, you'll get a notice saying something to the effect that "these players must clear waivers first", then if you don't get a message in the next couple of days saying that someone has claimed a player and the trade is cancelled, you'll get a message saying that you'll eventually get a message saying the trade was approved.

I've not tried to waive guys before trading them, but maybe that would work. If you look on the "waivers" screen on the "overview" team screen under "rosters and transactions", it will list all the players that have cleared waivers. I'm not sure where else you can find that information.

I know in my fictional game I made a trade after the deadline using waivers, and all I did was offer the trade, it was approved but had a message saying it'd complete automatically after the players clear waivers. A couple days later the trade was notified as being completed. I never actually looked at the waivers on my roster screen during the process so it does work that way.

Thank you. This might be a game changer for me.
