Owner new role

The owner could have a more active role. Some suggestions:
Makes you trade or sign for a specific player/manager/coach he really wants
Or asks you to remove/trade or cut a player he does not want anymore on the team.

Also, it would be nice when you try to get a FA. and you are overpaying, give the opportunity to the owner to deny the offer before you send it. Although there's a budget, he should not allow you to spend 90% of it on one player.

Some owners could provide more jiggle room based on personality et al.

I'm not sure about everything you listed, but I did have an owner ask me (as GM) to ditch an overpaid player on the team when I first took it over. It was one of his goals for me.

This was in OOTP 16, but I'm assuming that hasn't changed in 17.
