Question regarding posting

If I turn posting on, is it necessary or advisable to still generate international free agents each year? Wouldn't int players come from their respective leagues? I haven't tried posting yet, so I am curious to see what others think, as I don't want to mess up the talent balance.

In my universe some leagues have posting enabled, but teams rarely use it.

I don't see a reason to disable it, but my experience is it won't provide nearly as many international free agents as even international free agent generation set to "Few" would.

Ok, so is this t safe to say this is a feature which, while implemented, isn't where it needs to be yet, and I should likely enable international free agent generations.

I would keep both on but reduce intl FA to a lower setting, because there aren't 10 guys each year moving to the US from Cuba and Asia, its probably more like 3-5

total personal preference, but...

Do you have international leagues? if you have the leagues existing in your world, i'd turn off the auto-created established int'l FA (NOT discoveries or int'l amatuer FA, they aren't the same type of players) and let the sim create them naturally - since that's probably part of the reason you have them active in your game world to begin with.

otherwise you'll get 'extra' players of that type entering your league... then again, maybe that's what you want. if you have most relevant things on default, i can only assume the game is tuned for these defaults at least fairly well... any change needs a whole new assessment.

I do have all INT leagues running, so I was thinking I could still have discoveries and amateurs, but no established FA. This is what I had been doing.

I guess they should remain on default??

that's exactly how i thought about it... i'd turn off the established ones and leave the others... these are different pathways to the majors, so leave them on if you want those pathways simulated.

if you want extra talent, you could leave established int'l FA on... i don't think the quantity of those particular players created each year are that significant to the overall league talent. what is it 5-10players/yr or something?

but, it would be redundant since you have the international leagues turned on and your league if you allow foreign players / access to the international FA.

Do people prefer playing with the INT leagues or just having generated established FAs? I can't really decide, and am looking for some feedback.

My biggest issue is sometimes the lack of posting/FAs from those leagues. Realistically, there is a Top 30 list every season (and many more) that sign deals - all of varying levels. Sometimes using the league's doesn't seem to replicate this number.
