Ratings Relative

Do people use this feature a lot? Do you feel it's more realistic than the default? If so, why? If not, why?

Of course it's realistic. Each level of the minor leagues is a different level of baseball, and a player's skills will translate accordingly. While real life scouts may not file actual grades for players for every minor league level, they can certainly say things like, "He'd be great at Double-A" or "He'll begin to be overmatched when he reaches full-season A ball."

Also, your question is different in the poll than it is in your post. There's a difference between being "gamey" as you say in the poll and being more/less realistic than not using relative ratings.

I just meant gamey in the sense that you always sort of know where a player stands in terms of what level he should be playing. Real GM's have to gauge to the best of their ability, and therefore are prone to making mistakes all the time.

The current ratings system, in general, is not a realistic scouting model.

This is true only if you have ratings set to 100 percent accurate.
