Please Explain...

I love OOTP 17, especially with the addition with the historical minors. I am playing a historical game with the 1981 Detroit Tigers and have progressed to the 1982 season. Luis Salazar of the Milwaukee Brewers has been absolutely on fire this season and qualifies for the league lead in batting average with an average of well over .400. However, he did not make the AL All Star team which may be -if I can offer any sort of explanation - has to do with the fact that he is currently on the DL with a finger injury. However, it seems a major injustice that he was not selected for the All-Star team (it is even surprising that he finished third in the All Star voting to start the All Star game).
Is there anyone out there who has witnessed a major All Star snub of this magnitude. I get it, as there is always someone deserving who is left off an All-Star team every year but this just seems unjustifiable.

My fictional league SS, a 5-time All-Star himself, was having yet another great year but got injured - no All-Star this year. I figured that's just the way it goes, injustice or not.

Yeah, I guess I didn't realize that Baines was that close to a triple crown - I think he has a good shot. It is difficult to believe that Salazar will be able to maintain a .400 plus average the rest of the season.

I'm pulling for Baines on this one - he had such a cool stance, swing, and follow through.

Baines is my all time fav player, let me know what he does. I have seen a few weird nubs and have addressed some of these issues with Matt.

I will be sure to provide an update on Baines (and anything else that might be interesting) toward the end of my season which should be in the next couple of days

Update on Baines and other interesting occurrences: Going into the final month of the season, Harold Baines is hitting .333 (6th in the AL behind Luis Salazar's league leading .381) with 42 HR's (1st - leads by 4 HR's over Kent Hrbek) and 119 RBI's (2nd behind Willie Aikens who has 122 RBI's). Can Baines win the triple crown? Will Luis Salazar reach .400 after hitting above that mark up until the last couple of weeks? I will let you know

1982 was an interesting year in my sim league. Luis Salazar was hitting .400 well into August, yet did not make the All-Star team interestingly. Meanwhile, Harold Baines flirted with a triple crown throughout the year and was even on pace at one point to break the single season home run record.
All in all, Baines finished fourth in the AL with a .342 AVG (Luis Salazar led with a .373 clip) and 1st in home runs (56) and RBI's (162). Despite not leading the league in batting average, Baines did top the AL with 226 hits.
