Third Season - I literally have spent a month engaged in this season - every little move. I have an MLB league starting in 1984 - on 86 now.
Finally win the division. Playoffs dont start. A week goes by - it's in like Spring Training Mode.

There is no way to defend this. It's bad coding... Sick over it. My time is obviously not valuable. I can imagine the response coming - "pretend there was a strike and no World Series."

Total BS. Wasted all of this time. I wish I could get my playoffs to start.

If you would care to explain a bit about your league setup and settings, I'll try and help you sort out the problem.

It's not bad coding - playoffs work fine in this game. Since the problem seems to be specific to your game (nobody else has this problem that I'm aware of) please help us help you by giving some detail as requested.

No reason to get defensive - there is a bug and it's a bad one. I invested a ton of time. Here are the screen shots to prove my point. You will see it looks like the season never ends and playoffs were never disabled. I never touched the settings.

I'm not being defensive, I'm trying to help you. If you wish to start ranting on me as well as the game, then I'm out. I don't waste 1 second of my time on people who are more interested in throwing blame around then trying to actually resolve a problem.

Is this a standard historical league?

Did you adjust any settings after setup, rename/move teams, change number of games, or other settings?

I understand - thank you for helping. Standard historical correct - no teams moved around nothing like that. Third season previous 2 playoffs worked.

The one changing I set was during the pre-season the Astros roster wouldn't cut down from 60 - so I changed the spring rosters to 40 from 60. Fixed the problem there. Literally the only change I made in the game

Previous 2 playoffs worked - good. When the last playoffs worked and were complete with a winner declared, did the off season/pre season all go normal?

Was the league history updated normally?

It appeared so - but the pre-season had that one hiccup.
I shot this out while you were responding.

When you say it appeared so - do you mean yes, everything for the offseason/preseason and history updated correctly?
Does appears so mean you took the time to look and verify?

Sorry, I need definitive answers if we're going to try and track down the problem.

What is what? Automatic Evolution? It's on the Options Tab in league setup, top left.

I did - there is a screen for "Champions" and after the season in 1985 - the champions populated and their positions etc. Also I like comparing stats year to year - when i click on team for 1984 and 1985 the full stats are there. All the baseball cards are updated too.

Literally the only problem I had was in the preseason - which started correct - I expanded my roster for spring training, played it etc.

When it was time for regular season it said the Astros roster was inaccurate (they had 60 players) - since it was CPU controlled I couldnt change it. At that point I changed the setting to Spring Training Roster down to 40. I then proceeded forwarded and the regular season started as normal. All star game started as normal.

Trust me I looked all this up as I was so encompassed in it. Now my playoffs wont start for some reason.

BTW on my options on top left under League Settings starts with Awards - I dont see anything like that

This is tuff to figure out - changing roster sizes should not affect the schedule.

(Just as an aside, when an AI Team has roster problems like that, try using the "Ask AI Manager to setup entire team" option. This should fix the too many players.)

Did you report this in the bug report thread and upload a copy of your league file for the developers to look at.

Beginning to sound to me like the file got corrupted somewhere along the line.

Do you have any backups? Can you go back to the beginning of pre-season for season 3, then in league setup generate or load a new schedule before continuing.

had that happen to me last season. I just reset the playoff configuration and it worked good. in my case it didn't include the World Series. Working good now.

In beta, I couldn't advance the draft. The dev team had me change the league event date back a day and it fixed it.
