Game Shut Down without Saving - Can I just Restart?

I was playing out a game, down by 3 in the 8th inning and my below average hitting shortstop hit a grand slam with 2 outs. I wanted to replay the event but decided it would be fun to see it in 3D mode (I was originally playing in 2D). When I switched the screen to play in 3D and then clicked on the "replay" button, the game shut down.

Typically in the past, since the game did not yet save anything, I just have to restart the game and wouldn't have any issues. I just want to be sure this is still correct. Can someone confirm that I should be OK proceeding with my season after just restarting the saved game?

When I checked the files it seems that nothing updated (folder update date was yesterday, not today). However, when I actually look in the folder there is a a "Temp" folder that does have two files updated with today's date.
