Worst to First: The Green Bay Bears Story

So, I was writing in my Dynasty Report and I got to this playoff team. Here is what I wrote.

Green Bay Bears: Who?

Ok. So of all the teams that could make the playoffs, the Bears made it? The Green Bay Bears? The team with two playoff appearances in 26 years? The team of no-names? Well, they won 95 games, so they must be good. The stats say they are, but it is hard to shake the perception that they are just a fluke. They were top three in runs for and against, which is really saying something, but who's scoring these runs? Who's pitching?

Looking at their lineup, nobody really sticks out, but it is solid throughout. Juan Vasquez would be their best hitter, but he wasn't even an all-star and he also only has 3 WAR. He, like all of the Bears, is a young player (25). Last season his OPS+ was 77. This season 147. That's a good microcosm of the whole team. Nobody last year, somebody this year. This is a team that only won 57 games last season!

Moving on to the no-names in their rotation, "Tiger" King (27) and Antonio Salas (26) were their best pitchers. Salas lost 18 games last season. Tiger King was only 4-9 and a spot starter. It is mind boggling how this team formed out of nothing. 57 wins to 95? What?

This is my favorite story so far this season. It's been unbelievable what the Bears have been able to accomplish with the exact same lineup/rotation as last year. Anyone else have any great turnaround stories?

Looking at that attendance number, it's clear the the fans didn't get back on board for a while.

great story, thanks 4 sharing. i love how the game creates its own stories. the immersion that this games creates is 2nd to none. it doesnt matter whether u play fictional, historic, mlb, stats only, or any other way u desire, this game creates a world in which u can get completely lost in...
