Need improved recaps
I like the recap feature, but it's sadly lacking at times at pointing out important aspects. For example, my woeful Cincinnati Reds team finally ended a 13-game losing streak, but no mention of this was made in the recap. I don't know how difficult it is to code something like this, but it would certainly add something.

The game recaps are a fantastic addition to the game, and the guys who contributed to that project deserve a lot of credit, but I'm sure you can appreciate that the recaps took huge amounts of time and effort just to get them ready for OOTP17. Rest assured, though, that it's still a work in progress, and I'm confident further refinements are on their way.

Yea, I imagine those are going to be constantly improving over time. You have to realize that they are brand new to this version.

Great addition to the game. I will say this though, I was tired of the quotes after about week. I would trade every quote for more interesting facts and blurbs about my league. Love it when I see something like Johnson has 14 home runs, ranking him 2nd in the RDL. As for me not liking quotes.....I don't like them in real life either.

I do like the recaps, but sometimes the writing is a touch clunky. Here are two examples in a recap of a game I just played:
In the first green circle example, it would read better if it said "striking out 4 and walking none", rather than "walking 0", which never would be used in a serious sports page. In the second example, it would read better if it said "Ben Zobrist, a two-time All-Star" instead of "Ben Zobrist, who is a two-time All-Star". These are little things, of course, but it's the little things that make this game sing. My question is (and I acknowledge this might already be well known, I just don't know it), when we want to make suggestions for these, is there a thread already open I can add these to? Or do I put in a bug report for these (which seems a little like overkill for minor text issues)? |
