How do you handle expansion drafts?
I'm about to hold my first expansion draft (adding 2 new teams to a 10-team fictional league), but I'm not sure how many players I should protect for maximum realism.
How many players do you normally protect on each roster? In a smaller league like mine, how many players do you think is reasonable to protect, and under what "auto-protect" settings? Thanks! |

Larger leagues I protect 18 players. Smaller leagues I go with 20.
I just had a last minute expansion for the 2015 PCL and will cherry pick players from MLB 1977. New teams: Kentucky Colonels Tulsa Roughnecks Birmingham Bulls Des Moines Bruins Instead of re-generating the schedule I edited it so the new teams play each alot because these will be Independent teams and usually are better than farm teams filled from the MLB system. I let the computer handle the protected lists.
