What do do when computer being wiped clean??

I am getting my laptop wiped clean due to possible virus on my hard drive. What do I need to make sure I need to keep my own solo league without losing it? I do have a backup files from OOTP16 that's on the dropbox. I have lots of questions. Such as, Can I simply just download OOTP17 and just put it on that straight out or do I need to load OOTP16 then to the moving solo league the proper way?? Thursday is the big wipeout day. On OOTP16 I think I would need a renewal of licence for I did try it on my work laptop trying to test the moving of solo stuff.

I should note the game will not play at the moment for the database is corrupted at the moment. BOTH on 16 and 17

There is a function on OOTP17 to export games from a 16 save file.

I don't know if the database being corrupted will cause you problems regardless.

Make sure you release your game license on the old computer before it gets wiped (if you haven't already).

It just releases it back. If you don't release the license before your computer gets wiped, then the license will most likely be "lost" (although you can always submit a support ticket and we can reset lost licenses).

It allows you to install on another computer. You're allowed to install on two computers at a time. Releasing the license means you free up one of those installs so you can install on a new computer w/o having to re-purchase.

Release any license that's on the computer that's about to get wiped. Definitely on 17 if it's on that computer, since you'll want to play it throughout the next year.

Was NOT able to unlicense OOTP16 but I can for OOTP17

16 wouldn't let me even get into the game.

Bottomline is when I have a fresh computer I take it I have to download 16 in order to get 17 going with my current solo ??

If you have OOTP 16 files, you don't need a working version of OOTP to import them to 17. You should just be able to use the option on the main screen to do the import.

I do not see where I can do that. I was checking it out. Tried many options to where I can do that but the closest I could find is Import from OOTP16.

That's the one you want. Click on that, then indicate where the OOTP 16 save game file is and away you go...

So I do need to download OOTP16 in order to do that and put the files back into that folder and then import from there ???

I understood from what Matt said from above that there is no real need to do that

No - you said that you had backed up the save game files from OOTP16 that you want to import on Dropbox. Those the files you need to import.

Yes the files are on dropbox true but they are only the 12 to 16 files NOT the whole other folders part .

Don't forget I be starting from a refreshed computer. And I do know and have tried to put it on a different laptop and it wouldnt accept it even when I created a new folder trying to trick it in thinking its been in the game.
