Can't load saved games

I upgraded to OOTP17 this week and cannot get my saved games to load. I did set the helper threads to zero, which helped once, but not any more. My anti-virus is Windows Defender.

If I have to re-install, how do I do that? Re-install off the troubleshooting page? Unlicense? Or what should I do?

You need to import from version 16 if the saved game is from that version.

Nope, new games on 17 I set up this week.

It's happening on a previously saved game, not the one I've most recently worked on, and it's when the game loads all the way up to "100% finalizing" that it stops working.
