Adding Independant Clubs to Historical Minors

Im playing historical league career with historical minors.

I would like to add a few independent clubs at different minor league levels in the off season and let the AI fill them - is this a possibility? Or will it fubar the historical minor scenario?

can't alter the historical minors with your own teams .... wish it could happen, but after 1 season , those minors you create vanish and all the players end up in free agency.
