Historical team question?
Do teams that make trades have a significant benefit in historical simulations? I noticed Troy Tulowitzki on Colorado and the Blue Jays, with Jose Reyes on both teams as well. Seems Troy starts for both teams with added depth with Jose Reyes.

I'll mention this issue to Markus. I doubt it's supposed to work this way.

Does playing a best of 7 series 2-2-1-1-1 allow a pitcher to pitch games 1,4 and 6 because of the additional travel days?
Does this format make the rotation smaller as compared to 2-3-2?

Roster composition is working as designed (as per Markus). The user can determine which players should be on the active roster for the historical exhibition game or series. So, in the case of the 2015 Blue Jays, yes, Reyes and Tulowitzki should both be available. It's up to the user to decide which of them (or both!) should be active. What do you think? Good idea or not?

I appreciate the answer. Are all historical teams this way? I always thought historical teams are players on the September 1st roster which is preferable. It's kind of disappointing that I have to try to remember all trades to update the rosters for a series. ![]() NOT!!!

If you replay a season, the rosters are opening day rosters. If you replay a season using the option for real transactions, then rosters will change when real transactions are executed. (Note: real transactions do not include minor league promotions or demotions.)

I never realized that about historical seasons. I guess when I played I wanted to rewrite history or start in the current season and write a different future. For Historical exhibitions, I thought they would be the end of season rosters (or near the end) sort of a playoff roster. Having Troy Tulowitzki and Jose Reyes on the Blue Jays is not a true playoff team. It's as if they received a player in a trade and kept their player too (Kind of like the eat your cake and have it too). It really takes away from this feature if all historical teams are setup like this.

This is what happens only in historical exhibition mode. I expressed my misgivings to Markus. We'll see if he changes his mind.
