Notes on ly 83- present league

Im in 95 and Storm Davis won the Cy Young. Wow he has put a lot better career together in my league then he has in the real MLB. Hes 34 and has won about 260 games. He might get that 300. Shawon Dunston has already hit 40 homers twice in my league to go along with hitting over 30 homers 4 times, and has hit 20+ homers in a career for 5 times already. Hmm

He never played a full 162 game season, but looks like he had some pop. His high in HR was 23 in 121 games with Baltimore.

Sam Horn was a huge prospect for Boston(I believe), but he never really panned out as was hoped. Similar type career to Phil Plantier(sp?)

In my league he did lol. Thanks for the great info. How come in historical solo-replay leagues or what ever they are called the players drafted come out really really good?? Like Horn came out and averaged over 50 homers for 3 years straight out of the draft. I know when they are drafted it is supposed to be their rookie year. Is there anyway to have them get drafted like a couple years earlier w/ less ratings?

I don't think there is, unless you want to go through and manually enter them, when you think they should come in.

That is the fun of doing a historical sim, some guys just exceed expectations, others never live up to the hype.

Sam Horn -- an OOTP replay God. This must be at least the 5th league -- including the original FABL and possibly HOB1 -- that we've posted that he's busted out.

ask anyone who collected baseball "Rookie" cards in the mid to late 80's. They'll know who he is!

I think Sosa turned out to be the better buy out of that set

I think they were in the same year

In my v5 league, Sam Horn imported as a SS with B range! So now he bats .220 with 50 HR and 300+ K's... and is a slick fielding shortstop to boot!

I was an avid collector from about 90-95. Back when the David Justice, Ron Gant cards were actually worth something. I just recently went back and looked at my common cards to look for the Sosa, Randy Johnson, Pedro, Bonds cards that werent so valuable in the day i collected. I found like 40 Sosa Rookie Cards, which was great. However my other investments in Ken Griffey Jr, David Justice, Derek Lee, Ron Gant, Tom Glavine and jose canseco didnt pan out as well
