3d and player placement on the field, could it be locked to the pawn's placement?

Currently there is no way to move or lock player placement in 3d mode. The player placement is approximately whatever it is on the broadcast screen. Even if playing broadcast mode on a 3d field and then switching to 3d the players won't be exactly where they were on the broadcast mode 3d field.

This becomes even a bigger issue if you use actual photos or The Show parks for broadcast and also like to use 3d. Your players, whether in the field or on base, can end up anywhere. Runner on 1b is in RF, CF is in the skyline, C is on the mound, etc. etc. etc.

My suggestion would be to have OOTP automatically place your players just behind each pawn on the 3d field in 3d mode. Place the baserunner player card just in front of the pawn representing him on base. I'm no coder so don't know if this would be hard to do or not but it just seems such a simple solution if coding allows

I do like the new 3d but don't use it full time mostly due to timing between text and action. Yes I know about using the shorter version of pbp I like to be able to jump into and out of 3d for certain game situations, bases loaded, last out of the game, etc., but this player placement issue really makes a mess of the screen and takes away from enjoyment and immersion.

Thanks for listening...

You can use the small labels which will follow player locations on the field. And we definitely intend to allow an option to have the big labels follow the players too, but the biggest flaw is that especially on small screens, they tend to block the entire field, so especially when you have shifts or changes in defensive alignments going on, it looked pretty ugly. We'll keep playing around until we figure out the best way to handle things

I like the small labels.. just wish maybe it would tell a bit more like defensive ratings.
