Steam users shouldn't be treated like second class citizens. I highly doubt that the workshop central will have all of the same files as the add on central. And it's so easy to install mods from the add ons central as well.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add add-ons central to the steam version. |

And seriously, why isn't this quote from Markus in the other thread you mention this in enough for now? Are we banging cups against the cell bars? C'mon. It'll all work out.

I don't see the AIO mod available to download for 17. This being added or still worked on?

I don't really understand what you're talking about. I'm new to this game and Steam, for that matter. All I know is that in the beta I was able to go to Add On Central and easily install the add ons. Now all I see is Workshop Central and when I go to that I see nothing listed and now "Browse." Where exactly is this browse?

![]() I found something on the workshop, but there's probably more mods on the OOTP Mods website. |

the new AIO can be found here if you are having trouble with the steam workshop or the add-ons central
I have some thoughts on this, but I am doing the on-line league commish thing right now so ... I'll be back

sorry for the delay, end of season accounting, season flip, converting the league to 17. adding new owners. by the time I was done I was too pooped to ponder.
I would like to be clear that I am not being critical, decisions have to be made and what I don't know far outweighs what I do. But I just don't see how the steam workshop and the add-ons central are going to end up with the same mods. sure the main ones will, but for the average user the process of packaging these things correctly is already an obstacle and, if my understanding is correct, now the user has to include the install instructions for ootp instead of me in the xml file. I know how to do this and it still gives me a headache every-time. for an average user, who just wants to share a league he spent days or weeks on, I think it's a bit of an ask. what about the jersey and logo creator type mods, and their results? many logos and uniforms are used on an individual basis, for individual league and/or teams, often mixed and matched. neither the workshop or the central work for those types of mods. sure you can install logo & uniform packs, but you still have to sift through them to know which ones you want to use. then you have the steam vs. non-steam cultural .... differences. why would a steam only user send me a file or upload it to ootpmods, heck who says they will even know to send it to me. and will non-steam users really re-package the mods and upload them to steam? I don't want to do it. I can put as many disclaimers as I want in the description saying that I didn't create the mod, but what steam users will see is that I uploaded the mod. I don't have time to deal with all the questions that the real modders will never see. and unifying modders is like herding cats, I just don't see how the 3 or even 4, processes will unify. (add-ons central, steam workshop, ootpmods, & random community sharing) but it is what it is, 3 steps forward, 1 step back is still 2 steps ahead.

It's a small frustration that you can't have the workshop and add on central at the same time but again, the most commonly used mods will likely be on both.
Both the AOC and Workshop are just methods of an automatic download and installation process. All the mods are still just a group of files that can be copied and pasted into the OOTP folder just like the olden days. (Granted, the steam directory is a bit harder to find). Typically, when a mod is really good on steam people will ask that it be uploaded to a server off of steam (like OOTPmods) so if anything happens it's still available and can be installed via another method. Likely a good idea is for someone to add to the steam workshop a mod giving information regarding installing manually and/or links to this community or ootpmods. Another good idea would also have a separate sub-forum category for steam related questions.

Is it that hard to add the add ons central to the steam version of the game? I can't see the steam workshop getting all of the add ons that add ons central has. I'd like to add the skin files so I can do the custom award icons thing but I can't because it's not on steam workshop and might never be added. This was a bad idea unless steam forced this upon the ootp devs.
