It is the only option for the steam version. We expect the workshop to offer the same files as the add on central soon.

If you have both downloads, I've simply used Add-On with the traditional method and moved the appropriate items over to their applicable folders in the interim. Of course that means there's no installer for the zips, etc... That's a manually process. For larger items and direct installs, you may want to hold off, but for the simpler tasks, i.e. skin files, that's a pretty straightforward process. I can help with some of those tasks if needed, just shoot me a PM. I'll tell you I don't know, if I don't.

I only have the steam version. I guess next year I'll have to remember to order early and buy directly (I forgot to preorder so I ordered through the bundlestars offer). I have no idea if people will post the mods to steam. I have no idea why add ons central couldn't be added to the steam only version.

Well, it will, in essence, but be called Workshop Central. I think it'll be a couple of days, last I heard, before that initial setup has been completed. Then all will be good. Hang in there. It's a transition. Oh, I see now it was right here where I read it. Maybe not just a few days.

How have Steam users been utilizing Add-On Central in the past? Just curious as I'm relatively new to Steam myself, just know this year's a bit of an adjustment in some areas.

I've always used add-on central which worked great for mods. Workshop central was never an option on previous steam versions or I've never seen it.

I'm really disappointed with this change for steam users. I've never used workshop central for any other games I play on steam so I have no idea how it works. Add-on central is great. I wish that this could be added in a future patch. I don't see why steam users can't get access to add-on central.

Obviously, sorry for the delay, but see Markus' post. It won't be forever.

Last year OOTP16 had Add-on central on Steam and now it's workshop, but no files there.
This stinks!
I could've either spent 4+ hours (according to my browser) downloading from the PC download link or 6 minutes with Steam.
I chose Steam only to sacrifice add-ons for the speed of a download.
And without a definite timetable as to when those add-ons will be available for Steam, looks like I'm spending the 4+ hours waiting after all. I don't understand why it changed to Steam Workshop.

Yeah it does stink. Unless the people that mod post the files on steam or post it somewhere else, they won't be available to steam only users. The add ons central is so easy to use I don't see why they can't just add on to the steam version as well. I'm really pissed right now. This is stupid.

The only mod on the Steam Workshop as of now is the AIO Mod. I really wanted Historic Face Gen and others so I bit the bullet and went with the 4 1/2 hour download. Steam version pretty much useless to me now.

I really like the Workshop support and the Steam integration overall. The only thing is that it keeps telling me I need to update the AiO mod even though its up to date, but that's just a small bug. Really simple to install and you don't have to add XML servers like the Add-On Central, so its really central.

Its really simple to add content to it as well and keep track of things. I'm sure there will be more mods than just AiO in the coming days.

So i just bought this on steam, Guess that was a mistake. I can't add any quickstart i downloaded, it tells me to go to add on central and Steam doesn't have that.

This is quick refund on steam for me. No point in playing the game there if i can't use addons

I'll buy from the main site when it's on sale again.

Yeah I don't understand why the steam version of the game has to be different. Next year I'll skip buying the steam version too.
