Draft Pick Trading
Is Draft Pick Trading "On" by default? I just set up my new league, with my expansion teams, and I went to trade one of the prospects I picked up and the draft picks drops were in the trade window. Did I turn this on by accident or is it set to default because MLB actually does trade picks sometimes?

I think it's off by default.

It's off by default. At least it was when I set up an MLB game yesterday.

It's something I think I'll turn on after the first season. I get the issues behind it, but I think it should be implemented. Or at the very least trading of recently picked players.

I usually turn both features on.

I haven't often seen a player involved in a trade that was recently drafted, but it has happened once in a while. Maybe if I were to change the trade settings to "Favors Prospects" this would be different? |

In the real world are MLB teams allowed to trade draft picks?

Competitive Balance Lottery, which awards extra draft picks within the top 100 overall selections to teams in the bottom 10 of the league in revenue and market size, in addition to any other team that received revenue sharing in the previous year.

I have seen it happen previously in OOTP 16, but can't speak to OOTP 17 at this point. |

I haven't checked, is it enabled in the game for teams to trade international cap money?

I think MLB shortened the time teams had to wait to trade recently drafted players, which is why the D-Backs were able to send Swanson to the Braves in the Shelby Miller trade this off-season. I don't know if the new version of OOTP reflects this or not.
