Help with changing colors

I have attached two images.
- One from OOTP16 where the pitcher area on the roster screen has a white background. I think this was the way the game loaded on first download but it is possible I found a way to change from the default to this look and feel.
- The other is from OOTP17 where pitcher area on the roster screen has a blue background. This is default install version with latest beta update.

The same issue is on other roster screens.

I find it very difficult to read the white text on blue background and need to revert to the black text on white background so I can continue to play the game. The white text on red background is also hard to read and would like to change that back to the white on dark grey. This change would probably also help others with colorblind issues.

Can someone tell me how to change OOTP17 so it uses the white background and grey heading from OOTP16? The OOTP16 version is much cleaner and simpler to read. Not sure why it would have been updated.

Thanks,
Tim

Interesting thought. I always wondered about the possibiltiy of changing individual color objects.

In the meantime, what you can do when you're in your game is go File > Settings > Current Skin, and then try classic or dark. I use classic myself.

I tried that and while the red/blue issue was gone, The "poop" brown headings and brown "Bat" color background for lines is horrible.

Hopefully someone will figure this out. I love this game and don't want to have to stop playing it now because of this little issue.

Before anyone suggests it. I also tried the Dark skin and it was even worse than classic.

I'll wait for Markus or Matt to get a chance to drop in an review this thread.

Thanks,
Tim

Attached is the setting screen from OOTP16.

I guess the "ootp 16" skin shown below is not the same one used in OOTP17.

Thanks.

I'm waiting for a better skin myself.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

I've posted elsewhere about the smaller scroll bar size. I'd don't know if that is related but the general look and feel of OOTP17, while close to OOTP16, is actually a step backwards.

Sometimes change is not good.

A temporary fix you can try is to change your team colors in the settings mode. For example if you change your primary color to white, it will show up with a white background instead of the blue color. I like the dark skin so I changed my team color to black and it made it easier for me to read. You can play around with color schemes to see what works best for you. Worth a try anyway.

It's like the use team text color is not working in file-settings.

When off it should look like the screenshot of '16, when on like the screenshot for '17.

I just checked and looks like it's been reported in the bugs thread by someone.

craftdr,

That worked very well. Still need to play around some more to get a good contrast, but at least I can easily read the text.

Thank you very much.

I am now adding a new option to the settings dialog to use default colors for interface controls (like listboxes).

It does, it is for using the team text color for certain labels if enabled.

EOOQE.

I had to restart the game after changing colors to get them to text colors to change on the display. I'm not sure if that is expected, but it did work.

Actually you don't need to restart. Just need to change to another team and than back to the original screen so that it is recreated with the new color scheme.

Markus,
Is there a way to have the color changes apply to every team in your human organization?

I just looked at my AAA organization for the first time after sending some players down and noticed that the colors match the team colors, not the ones I just changed. I assume the colors are specific by team and not be human controlled organization.

Thanks,
Tim
