I Really Hate to Complain
I love the game and love having a new version etc....
But WHY when you port in existing games do I have to go an reload all of the ballparks for all of those teams and readjust all my play settings. Why is this not brought forward from previous versions of the games. It frustrates me every year and really puts a damper on my enjoyment of the game until I can get that all fixed.

Thought we were just talking about ballparks. Just copy the ballpark folder over. That's what I've always done. The teams still point to the right ones.

Ballparks and skin mods is all I recall. I'll be verifying later tonight though.

Ballparks and in-game settings are the usual annoyances (thought I haven't played a 'game' yet so I don't know about the latter).
And I am talking about annoyances, not disasters. I am just saying that year after year, it just seems like such common sense that when you import a game that it imports ALL of the game. It doesn't. I find that annoying. (and it isn't just the pictures. It is the alignment of all the players on all the pictures. It is annoying to adjust since the drag and drop went away)

It does. Ballpark pictures however are not part of a saved game, they are global to OOTP 16 and hence are not imported. You need to move them over by yourself unfortunately. The same applies to things like saved views, custom world files etc.

And... people who say it is just 'copy the folder over'
I do that every time and it NEVER works. I still get those ugly 3-D pics. I have to change them one at a time.

That is what I am getting at. My question is... why? Is there anybody ever who wanted to import an existing game and didn't want all of those settings to come with them?

Because OOTP 17 does not know where the OOTP 16 custom data is. All it does know is where that particular saved game is.
