Just curious about collegiate summer leagues

Just surfing the net this morning and while reading Baseball America the other day, there was an ad for Spitball magazine. Nice site, with a lot of information on baseball books, etc.

Anyway, one of their recommended links was for the Chillicothe Paints, which is a team in the Prospect League, very similar to the Cape Cod league. Was just wondering if this would ever be a consideration for OOTP somewhere down the road? Not something I'm missing in the game, but just curious if this would ever find it's way in a future release.

My wife's hometown of Butler, PA has a team in this league, the Butler Blue Sox. Prospect League website listed below.

I would love to have some collegiate summer leagues/teams added in (including my own hometown Humboldt Crabs, the oldest CS team in America), but I doubt it'll ever happen, personally. Even as OOTP loves to go for realism, CS baseball is probably pretty far down the list.

This team will be practically playing in my back yard: Portland Pickles || Home

I probably won't get a season ticket plan, but I imagine I'll be at 5-10 games.

There are quite a few summer collegiate leagues, so it may be necessary to decide which ones should be included. In terms of popularity, as measured by attendance, here's how the leagues fared in 2015.

Cape Cod League: 1,095 per game average (229,917 over 210 games; 10 clubs)
Coastal Plain League: 1,326 per game average (515,758 over 389 games; 15 clubs)
Futures Collegiate Baseball League: 1,078 per game average (280,286 over 260 games; 10 clubs)
Midwest Collegiate Baseball League: 449 per game average (80,372 over 179 games; 6 clubs)
New England Collegiate Baseball League: 852 per game average (206,209 over 242 games; 12 clubs)
New York Collegiate Baseball League: 257 per game average (64,329 over 250 games; 8 clubs)
Northwoods League: 1,776 per game average (1,088,747 over 613 games; 18 clubs)
Perfect Game League: 934 per game average (203,546 over 218 games; 10 clubs)
Prospect League: 1,016 per game average (345,275 over 340 games; 12 clubs)
West Coast League: 1,136 per game average (355,449 over 313 games; 12 clubs))
Western Major Baseball League: 759 per game average (174,562 over 230 games; 10 clubs)

Just thinking about this some more, and I'm wondering in practical terms how this would slot in. From my testing with having indie leagues/intl leagues/MLB leagues together, I noticed that almost no players moved from the indie league to the MLB level, across multiple test set ups and decades.

For those who'd like to see some of these included--how would you plan to use it? I'm curious.

Thanks for listing those leagues. Much appreciated! I play stats only, so I was just thinking it would give me more to look at when I decide to draft that player at some point, or if they go undrafted, more to look at over their college career. I don't know, just a thought really.

That would be a major reason to include them. Another is that it gives some college players additional games in which to develop prior to being drafted.

Maybe this can be delayed until OOTP19, to give me two years' time to scout NECBL players? /s

Alas, my Crabs are an independent team, though they had over 35,000 fans attend last year all on their lonesome.

It's a nice idea, but I don't think this is likely to happen anytime soon. Not sure why we'd add summer leagues before we add the actual colleges and Markus just suggested that was an OOTP21 sort of thing

That would be really cool and probably would get me to actually use feeder leagues, I think.
