Rain outs

Will there be a way to disable rain outs?

Sure. Use this weather.txt file. Average temp of 77 degrees and no precip from March through November (you know for those seasons that start early and run late). It only has these settings for the 30 major league teams though, so if you have any other cities that have teams, you'll have to get in there and modify it.

This is such an obscure fix that it might be better to get an ACTUAL fix in the game, eventually.

Rainouts were a great addition to the game, although the bugs still need to be worked out. Next on the list should be to count games that are called because of weather but which are otherwise official games. Right now, any game that is "suspended" because of weather is scheduled to be completed on some other day, even if it was an official game with one team leading. That's not how it's done.

I think I must misunderstand something. Called rain-outs seem to be working for me:

Same here, follows the rules of what constitutes an "official game"

On a side note, I love that Havana Santos logo. I hope I can find it in the mod section.

There's several points here to consider.

(1) OOTP still needs work on major league postponement and rescheduling. The game still cannot do the single admission, two-for-one doubleheader, even though that was a staple of baseball for many years. It only does separate admission (i.e. day-night) doubleheaders. (This is apparently due to limitations in the financial engine.) It also doesn't recreate the rule whereby the home club bats first in a game made up in its park rather than the other club's park where it had originally been postponed.

(2) All clubs play out their full season, meaning postponed games are sometimes made up even when by real-life rule they shouldn't be. One of the reasons to have postponements is to have seasons where not all clubs play out the full regular season schedule. (I have full stats on the frequency and degree of this at the major league level.)

(3) Postponements in real life are handled differently in the minors, using a much simpler process. Postponed games are almost always made up as single admission doubleheaders, and games are never made up after the scheduled end of the regular season, regardless of their importance to any playoff position races. OOTP at present does not recreate this difference.

(4) Suspended game rules are different in the majors and minors. In the minors, games can be suspended at any point, even after just one pitch in the opening inning; in the majors, the rules are much more restricted. OOTP does not recreate this difference.

(5) I'm not sure of this, but I suspect OOTP has too many suspended games. In the majors, suspended games are fairly rare. (They are somewhat more common in the minors due to the rules being wider regarding when a game can be suspended). Not sure if the frequency of rain-shortened games is too high in OOTP; again, these are fairly rare in the majors, while being somewhat more common in the minors.

If their is a power failure-doesn't the game continue at a later date because it if doesn't then the home team(when leading) should be playing with the light switches more often?
