White Sox logo request

So after searching around for a bit, I've come to the conclusion that nobody has made a more modern looking version of my favorite logo, the 1949 Flying Sock. As much as I love it, there is something about the way the sock and text are done that make it look really outdated, which it is since it was done over 50 years ago.

I've tried to recreate it myself but I'm not quite that good enough with photoshop to make it look like something an MLB team would actually use in 2016. Can anybody make a facelifted version?

How is this? BTW I can't take credit, I got them from the 5000 logo pack for download.
