Game crashes constantly

I just bought the game yesterday and I can't get anywhere without the game crashing. In one league I couldn't get past day 1 of the coaches offers and now every time I click on the sign coaches and scouts buttom on the top it crashes. I tried to start a new league without a drat and it kept crashing just navigating through my team menus. Anybody know what can be done to fix this?

Besides your Windows type, we sure could use some info about your computer.

How much RAM (memory) you have.
How big your HD is. and how much is left free.
Video Card.
Sound Card.

Version of Direct X.

More we know , the more we can help.

It used to crash on me when using another name file than the original. Would crash randomly after 5 to 15 games. I reinstall the original roster and haven't had any problems simming 7 seasons in two seperate leagues.

Don't know if it helps, doesn't seem it could be the reason but it worked for me.....

Guys,

Try disabling the sound.... I ran into the same types of problems you guys were having during beta testing with ME. ME seemed to have a problem with the sound (or it was my comp.. not sure which one).. I have now switched to XP and haven't had any problems since.

Try disabling the sound anyway... hope it helps

Kurtis

Tried disabling the sound and the name file wasn't changed. Any other ideas? Later on I will be playing OOTP5 on another computer which will hopefully work, but that's not going to be for a while since I can't get on the internet to liscense the game with that computer.

If you call Via-Tech they can walk you through how to license the game on a non-net PC.
