2016 MLB Hall of Fame Ballot
Can't post a poll for this as poll options are limited to 15 on this forum, and there are 32 players on this year's ballot. Without further ado, here are my ten:
1. Barry Bonds 2. Roger Clemens 3. Curt Schilling 4. Ken Griffey Jr. 5. Jeff Bagwell 6. Mike Mussina 7. Larry Walker 8. Mike Piazza 9. Alan Trammell 10. Edgar Martinez Due to how overcrowded the ballot is with qualified (IMHO) candidates, I would add six further players to my list if I could. They are as follows: Tim Raines, Mark McGwire, Jim Edmonds, Sammy Sosa, Gary Sheffield, and Jeff Kent. Last edited by actionjackson; 12-02-2015 at 12:35 PM. |

Griffey
Shoeless Joe - don't care if he's not on the ballot, BBWAA voting is a load of crap anyway so I use my own ballot

Just noticed that Chris and I have exactly the same lists except that I have Edmonds and Chris has Edgar!

Any reason you'd put Edmonds on over say Sosa or Kemp?

I think there are maybe 18-20 guys who deserve to get in, including Sosa and Kent.
Since I can only vote for 10, I gave Edmonds the last spot since I think he's totally deserving but will probably get the least votes of any of those 20 guys. |

Here is an update for our voting so far on the 2016 Official Hall of Fame Ballot based on the 7 votes received so far:
J. Bagwell 42.9% B. Bonds 42.9% R. Clemens 42.9% J. Edmonds 14.3% K. Griffey Jr. 100.0% T. Hoffman 28.6% E. Martinez 42.9% F. McGriff 14.3% M. Mussina 57.1% M. Piazza 57.1% T. Raines Sr. 71.4% C. Schilling 42.9% G. Sheffield 28.6% L. Smith 14.3% A. Trammell 71.4% B. Wagner 14.3% L. Walker 28.6% Write-In (J. Jackson) 14.3% All other candidates (on or off the ballot) have received 0 votes so far. Candidates require 75% to get into the HoF. Therefore, we only have Ken Griffey Jr. going in so far. Happy to see the support for Trammell and Raines Sr. (even though I wasn't able to squeeze him in on my ballot ). Keep your votes coming. I'll keep doing updates as required. MLB will be announcing the Class of 2016 in the first week of January, so I'll close the voting at that time.

I think only Junior and Edgar this season, but Raines, Piazza, Hoffman, Bags, and the Rocket should all be in within a couple years. I would vote for Bonds, but there seems to be some value still attached to sportsmanship.

I have never understood how players can be HOFer's later on after a few more years of retirement but not now. I mean, I've heard people try to explain that line of thinking a whole bunch of times, but it never really makes any sense to me.

Never to me either. It's like waiting until someone is a little more dead before you bury them.

Shall I count this as a vote for just Griffey and Martinez then?
