Klitschko-Fury [SPOILERS]

Fury fought the better fight and deserved the win.

I think Klitschko's lack of ability on the inside had a lot to do with last night's result - more so than his age.

His legs looked terrible - that I can attribute to age.

I expect a repeat if not stoppage victory from Fury in the rematch next year.

I just watched a horrible video of the fight. Picture kept breaking up. Didn't indicate what round you were watching. Pretty sure I missed at least two rounds in the beginning.

As to the fight, it was not pretty to watch. I'd like to see the punch-count. If either guy landed 20 power punches in the whole 12 rounds I'd be surprised. Klitschko looked puzzled in there, unable to solve Fury's constant movement. Fury made Klitschko look bad, but did he do enough to win? I don't think so. I'm glad I wasn't a judge. Very hard to score because so little really happened each round.

If that had been two middleweights instead of heavyweights the fans would have booed them out of the ring.

Looks like we get to watch them do it again. Yippie. Can't see Klitschko doing better but you never know. As for Fury. If he wins the rematch I'll be curious to see who he defends against next.

In one 3min video I heard a British commentator say that Fury is the 7th British world heavyweight champion. Guy must have taken one in the head.

Yep, Fury is the 8th...

Bob Fitzsimmons, Michael Bentt, Herbie Hide, Frank Bruno, Henry Akinwande, Lennox Lewis, and David Haye all held one or more world HW championship belt during their career.

If you're going to count belt champions there might even be more. There were only 2 world champions: Fitzsimmons (learned the trade in Australia) and Lewis (born in Jamaica and learned the trade in Canada). Fury, having been given the decision over world champion Klitschko, is number 3 and the first real British world heavyweight champion born and raised.

Personally I never really considered Lewis to be British but he was born in East London and emigrated to Canada in his teens.

Was a rotten fight and I'm still surprised there wasn't a home town decision. They should have deducted another point from him post fight fight after the sing song

the ONLY reason why the scoring was even that close was because Fury got a point deduction late. I think I said on here some time ago watch out for Fury......

Wow! Are you sure that wasn't just one round?

It really was an awful looking fight. Definitely has to do with age and desire in camp by Wald (and I'm not a huge Wald fan). But Fury is just awful looking in there. A motivated and younger Wald beats him 9 out of 10 times.

I stand corrected. Turns out his parents were Jamaican. Here in Canada many referred to Lewis as the "Kitchener Thunderbolt" in his amateur days as he grew up in that city in Ontario.

Wlad's age is a bigger part of the loss than people think. He's older than Joe Louis was when he fought Marciano or Ali was when he fought Larry Holmes. It's hard to stay on top when the body slows down, especially at the higher weight classes.
