Off-season changes for historical leagues

Maybe there's a way to do this already, and I don't know it, but I'd like to see the beginning of the off-season delayed until all the awards are handed out.

I'm playing a historical league with evolution on, and as it is, the changes are made immediately after the post-season ends. Players - who may have had good enough seasons to be considered for awards - retire, and don't appear in voting. Team names change, so a guy who put up an award-winning season for, say, the 1901 Milwaukee Brewers, gets credit for his award as a St. Louis Brown. And I've had managers who took their team to a pennant miss out on Manager of the Year consideration because their contract out and they weren't specifically with the team when the award was handed out.

My apologies again if there is already a way to do this which I just don't know, but I think it would be nice if future versions could do it this way by default.
