Contract negotiations
What is the actual point of the contract "negotiations" screen?
There is no negotiating that happens in this game. You give the player what they want for the amount of time they want and if they don't get it, they are happy to remain unemployed. This in my opinion needs work. Eg. I want to offer a 36/37 year old a one-year deal, but they will budge on nothing. They want 3-years and nothing else. They retired shortly afterwards. |

I agree that way more often than not you need to match their request if you want to sign them. Then with the AI not signing FAs they remain unsigned into the season. Completely unrealistic

I'm not a big fan of it, either, the design borrows a lot from OOTP and doesn't make as much sense for hockey. It'd be too disruptive to pull it out of FHM2 at this point, but I'm hoping we can replace it in 3.
