Which player(s) does OOTP hate or love in your league

Just for fun and I'm curious which players in your game does it seem like the game hates or loves.
Basically they alwaysover achieve or under achieve from what you would expect

Examples in my game:

Felix Hernandez is always a mediocre pitcher no matter his ratings. This has been the case in the last 3 OOTPs ( Around 4.00 ERA, 10 -10 W-L) over several seasons

Mean while Daniel Murphy seems to always be a star ( .300 avg 30 HR 100 RBI 100 Runs ) Also in the last 3 OOTPs over several seasons.

Daniel Murphy is always great for a couple of years in my games too, but Matt Harvey usually fizzles early. I have one savegame where he was forced to retire at 30 due to another round of Tommy John - I made him manager of the Savannah Sand Gnats.

The Daniel Murphy love comes from Lukas. Better delete that comment about Harvey, otherwise Lukas will be bumping Harvey up in the DB editor making Harvey an ironman.

OOTP loves Brandon McCarthy who has been great in the CBF. Hates Andrew Jackson who is an edited player based on fictional-historical stats, still hardly ever starts. He was basically a Steve Finley type of CF.

This Steve "I Am" Kuffrey in my league always seems to tear it up.

My game absolutely hates David Wright. 2015 season he hit .225. He has never hit that low is whole career. Now just started 2016 season...he had an ok Spring and now after 6 games to start the Season is hitting .316 butttt he got hurt and is out for 5-6 weeks.

Loves: Britt Burns. The non-descript early-80s White Sox starter went on to win over 300 games, with 3700+ ks and 20 seasons in a row and counting of 10 or more wins....every season of his career so far! Still going strong heading into 1999.

Hates: Charlie Hough. He washed out of the minors after seven years there, and didn't make the majors until age 40...and even then only because of a combination of pity and the fact that I unretired him after I started keeping real-life-ish rosters in my league! Had a good rookie year (17-9, 2.96 with a league-best 1.03 WHIP) in '89 for the Rangers, but after that never had a better record than 14-14 or a better earnie than 4.36 (3 seasons over 5, one over 6!). Finished 66-89 with a 4.83 (only that rookie year kept him under 5) and 1.45 WHIP in six big-league seasons.

Kershaw won 7 straight Cy Youngs, and 9 in 10 years in mine.

Just curious, in the Britt Burns league, are you using recalc?

I'm still using last year's version, but it seems like Matt Holliday and Jhonny Peralta never do much of anything 90% of the time. I can usually find a trading partner for Peralta, but I've often had to force-retire Holliday after the second season. That's too bad considering his ratings still have him batting near or over .300 by that point.

Mine, too! Every game I seem to start Wright is nothing more than a .220 hitter with very little power. At one point I let him end his misery and retired him to become a hitting coach.

In my league (esp 2015, 2024 current), Kershaw's won at least 8 Cy Youngs and the the top hitters have been Wilin Rosario, who just hit 280 with 51 HRs at age 36 and Josh Bell who consistently hits bats over 300 with 30 HRs. Scherzer faded away to 1/2 star rating at age 32 and Buxton and Trout were destroyed by injury and they both busted.

No, although he has played way more seasons than he did in real life...no hip problems helped him, I guess?

My game hates Felix Hernandez and David Wright as well. Adam Jones also.
LOVES Stephen Strasburg and Puig, who's closing in on the triple crown after a monster season previous. Brendon Belt and Justin Smoak are also monster first baseman.

For me the game hated Teixeira, Sabathia (HOLY GOD HE'S BAD) and Gardner, loved Headley, Tanaka and Pineda in 2015.

NYYANKS98,

In 2015
Tex hit 38 hr and 125 rbi, CC went 17-7 3.87 era, Gardner was pretty bad
Tanaka, Headley and Pinada were all solid.

In 2016 Tex .161 5 hr in 300 at bats. CC 2-7 5.37 era Gardner is killing it
Tanaka and Headley are solid again Pinada in aaa after going 1-3 8.82 to start season.

Im 30-31 in 2016. All the older players seem to crap the bed in 2016. GOOD LUCK! LOL

Harvey isn't an ironman?

I'll fix that!

To be honest, I do think Murphy is a teeny bit overrated in game by PECOTA.
