Rosters?

How do I get real players into a fictional file? I have my fictional layout already. I would like to add real player to the file.

If you already have fictional players in the file and want to get rid of them, you can export those rosters to an Excel file, open up another file with real players in it, copy and paste the real players into the fictional file (except their player IDs, otherwise the game won't recognize the players if their player IDs aren't in the database already), save the fictional file as a .csv file and re-import it into your game.

If all you have are teams and leagues but no players, then you can try these methods:

i have teams, logos and everything setup. Having trouble exporting and importing the rosters file. How do I exactly do this. I have 3 leagues but all connected so draft is one league. I would like the roster from the start of the 2015 season.

Okay this will take some time but it will be worth it. Create a dummy league from the MLB quickstart that comes with the game. It has all teams with Opening Day rosters. When that league is created, export the rosters by clicking on Game, Game Settings, League Settings, and Export __ Rosters. You can name the file whatever you want. Once it's exported, that will create a text file in the import_export folder of that league in your OOTP Developments folder in Documents. Open up Excel and open up that text file with Excel. When the text import wizard window opens, check "Delimited" on the first screen and click Next. Check Tab and Comma on the second screen and click Next. On the last screen, just click Finish and the file will finally open.

Now repeat the above steps with the rosters file from the league you want to add real players to.

Now, you will copy information from the dummy league to your fictional league. Just copy over the players you want to be on each team, making sure you only copy from Column E to Column EQ. DO NOT copy over the fictional team IDs and player IDs with the dummy league's team IDs and player IDs because your fictional league will not recognize them otherwise.

Once all that is done, save the fictional league file as a .csv file and save it in the import_export folder of your fictional league. Once that is done, go back to Game, Game Settings, League Settings, and click Import Rosters. Navigate to the fictional league's import_export folder and select the .csv file. It should import all those players like you want.

Ive tried this several times and I dont get what I am doing wrong. I dont care what team they go too. I am going to do a fantasy draft anyways. I just would like all major leaguers and minors leagues to be in the fictional file. Do you have some where to upload the file and someone can do this for me?
