SS Roy Lord:
Grounds out to the pitcher.
Stephen Goudy was injured.
(out for at least a month with a strained muscle)

GOING OUT WITH A BANG

I had a 23 year old 3rd baseman named Ryan Ortiz, A/.983 defense, who started the year in AA with ratings of 3,4,6,3,6,5. He was in the bigs by June, after his ratings jumped to 7,7,8,7,9,8. He won the rookie of the year AND the MVP award by hitting .354, 42 HR, 119 RBI, 41 SB, 39 2B, 11 3B, and 84 walks vs. 12 k's. Then it happened: last game of the season, winner geets the wild card spot. bottom of the 9th. down by 3. 2 outs. bases loaded. Ortiz at the plate. a deep drive to right. through the gap, all the way to the wall. 1 run in. 2 runs in. the RF fires to the cut-off man. 3 runs in. Ortiz rounds third. do i send him? sure, why not. cut-off man throws home. it's gonna be close. he's safe! Braves win! Braves win!
