Letter Logos
In my current project, I'm creating a more balkanized take on baseball. I don't want to lean too heavily on picture logos, as most major league teams use either letter logos or very toned down picture type logos. Example of this would be the the Detroit Lions in football, or Michigan State in the collegiate ranks.
Basically what I am saying is I would like a way to use semi-unique letter logos. I'm not asking for them all to be made for me, that would be ridiculous. I'm more asking how everyone else who utilizes letter logos extensively does this effectively. |

I use one of the older and free version of Xara Xtreme. It's a vector program, so you have a few ways of making some unique letters.
You could pick any font and use it as a reference, trace over it then modify it as you like. The shape editor is easy to use, if you want to try something from scratch.

Thank you! I appreciate it tremendously, this looks like exactly what I need. Does this allow you to use multiple letters in like one logo? Also, do you have any recommendation as to where to download Xara Xtreme?

I forgot it was free only for a period of time. Sorry about that. Try Inkscape instead. And yeah, you could do multiple letters.
