What is the tag control for?

The little box that you can select when looking at rows of players...what's the purpose of checking this?

Some actions (like deletion, if you are the commissioner) can be performed on more than one player at a time if you click these boxes to select them. The one in the top left corner clicks them all, on or off.

Lock to minor league level, release. There are 9 actions possible.
