Depth Chart Issues
So after much offseason preparation, I'm about to begin another season in OOTP '16. But I'm encountering a strange problem...specifically in the Lineup and Depth Chart department.
Here's how I set up my depth Chart: RHP+DH Depth Chart Primary Catcher: Player A 2nd Catcher: Player B (every 3rd day) Primary 1B: Player C 2nd 1B: Player D (every 7th day) 3rd 1B: Player B (never) Primary 2B: Player E 2nd 2B: Player F (every 7th day) Primary 3B: Player D 2nd 3B: Player G (every 5th day) Primary SS: Player H 2nd SS: Player F (every 7th day) Primary RF: Player I Backup RF: Player J (every 7th day) Backup RF #2: Player K (every 10th day) Primary CF: Player L Backup CF: Player J (every 7th day) Backup CF #2: Player K (never) Primary LF: Player J Backup LF: Player M (every 5th day) Backup LF #2: Player K (every 15th day) Primary DH: Player M Backup DH: Player G (every 4th day) Backup DH #2: Player B (every 10th day) For the sake of simplicity, I won't bother posting the vs LF+DH lineup since it's really just the same problems only a different configuration. But the idea was to get player G 2-3 starts per week so I can evaluate him better (I just acquired him on the cheap after a down season, but still has great ratings and want to see if he can bounce back and be my 3B of the future), and use my aging LF slugger mostly at DH while still putting him in the field every now and then so his fielding doesn't plummet in case I need to use him in LF for a prolonged period due to injury. The issue is twofold: first, when I initially set up the depth chart, then went to set it up for LHP+DH, then shifted back to RHP+DH, half of my backups had been removed from the depth chart. Um, why? I reentered them, and they seem to have stuck this time, but I'm wary of this happening again. My second issue is slightly more annoying. I played out the first game of the season and everything was set up fine when I went to start. But when I went to do the same for the second game, it was a complete mess. The lineup was in complete disorder (my cleanup hitter was batting 9th, my #7 batter was batting 2nd, I had backups batting leadoff and #3, etc.). I don't know what happened. It was obviously too soon for the backups to be starting since the earliest any of them was set up to start should've been game #3. I figured it was just a weird glitch, and overrode the lineup with a custom lineup (the primary lineup above saved as custom) and moved on. But then the exact same weirdo lineup was back for game #3!!! I don't know what is going on. I don't want to be required to check my depth chart and manually change the lineup every game (this would get very complicated very fast once we start seeing some LHP as well, not to mention I've set up similar depth charts for all my Minor League affiliates and there's no way I could manually adjust every single one for every game). So does anyone see anything that looks like an obvious issue, or have any other advice on how to deal with this problem? I have full control over everything as GM+Manager mode, so it's not the AI manager at fault trying a new weird sabermetric approach or anything, fyi. Thanks guys. |
